I joined SpoFi on May 31, 2002 (my profile) probably after seeing it mentioned on MetaFilter (my profile) where I have been a member since June 4, 2000. I still hold a grudge that the interview worldcup2002 conducted with me on Christmas Eve 2005 has been deleted in order to free database space. I'm talkin' to you, rcade! ;)
I mostly participate in soccer threads and love that there are so many footie fans and Europeans members.
Why 'terrapin'?
The answer is threefold. First, I am a long-time fan of the Grateful Dead [Flash warning]. Second, I attended (and graduated from) the University of Maryland whose mascot is the terrapin. Lastly, I have always dug turtles. i think they're interesting creatures.
Biography
I currently live in the gorgeous town of Tunbridge, VT with my beautiful wife, Sarah, and our two crazy Boston Terriers, Haley and Mickey.
The wife and I decided to leave the rat race of Washington, DC for a quieter existence where we could grow some of our own food, and enjoy each other's company. We bought a house on 10 mostly-wooded acres in Tunbridge, VT in the spring of 2006.
