An "in-joke" is a joke shared by a small group of friends or a community as a whole. It can be frustrating to not "get" an in-joke and sometimes they are detrimental to the idea of community. This page is meant to share in-jokes to help make newer members more at home on the site.

Cissé!

During the 2006 World Cup, many SpoFites gathered on the campfire chat to watch the matches simultaneously. There was a Nike commercial that aired (constantly), called Jose+10 (Video link), showing two little boys having an imaginary pick-up game of football/soccer, where each boy selected a famous player for their side. The first player chosen in the advert was Djibril Aruun Cissé who is better known by his last name, and his bleach-blonde hair. Ironically, Cissé, broke his leg in a warm-up match against China and therefore didn't play in any Cup matches. In the advertisement the boy shouts "Cissé!" to make his first pick. SpoFites took to greeting each other as they joined the chat by also shouting "Cissé!"

The video was also know for the infectious song by Jim Noir called "Eanie Meany" which can be heard in the linked video above.
